The Biggest Threat To The Wildlife Of The Northern Rockies Are The State Game Departments!

This is a new blog, born out of necessity.  Due to the continued growth in the wolf population of the Northern Rockies, and the continued spread of the destructive predator's range, big game population of the region are in peril, and in some areas are extremely close to being totally lost.  This blog will bring to you a variety of articles or reports which will keep you informed of who is at fault...what is either being done or not done to reverse the dramatic decline in elk, moose and other big game numbers...and what must be done to save our big game herds.

At the heart of the problem are the state wildlife agencies themselves.   These departments have not been aggressive enough with predator control (wolves, mt. lions, bears) to curb the populations of these carnivores, which have pulled down elk numbers in many areas by as much as 80-percent - and continue to whittle those herds down even more.  What's really sad, is that the upswing in predator populations has been encouraged by the very game departments which are also charged with insuring the health of all wildlife populations.  Today, agencies such Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks and the Idaho Department of Fish and Game are expending far more effort to insure growing numbers of predators than insuring an abundance of big game for the sportsmen - who fund those agencies.

From such foolishness, we have learned the hard way that the Northern Rockies cannot have both.  The idiocy of efforts like the Northern Rockies Wolf Recovery Project, which kicked off with the first release of non-native wolves into the Greater Yellowstone Area in 1995, has already destroyed the past 75 years of wildlife conservation in much of Montana, Idaho and Wyoming.  That idiocy is now spreading into Washington and Oregon.

That idiocy will be spotlighted on this blog - and you can serve as one of the watchdogs which sounds the alarm when a wildlife agency, state or federal, allows predator impact to destroy a state's most precious resource - its wildlife.
